LISTEN: Titmus defends 400m freestyle crown as Australia STUNS in the pool with two gold medals
It’s been a stunning morning (AEST) in the pool for Australia, winning two gold and two silver medals at the La Defence Arena in Paris.
Ariarne Titmus successfully defended her Olympic title, breaking rival Katie Ledecky early in the race, while also holding off Canadian Summer McIntosh to win 3:57.49.

While Australia’s all-conquering women’s 4×100 team made it four gold medals in a row, taking out title ahead of the United States and China.

The Aussies also won two silver medals – Elijah Winnington finished just behind Lukas Maertens in the 400m freestyle, while Kyle Chalmers’ stunning leg saw Australia’s men’s 4×100 claim a silver medal in the final event of the night.
