However, with sales slowing by 63 per cent in the first half of the year to just 169, compared to the same time last year, they’re now available from just $70,000 drive-away – a saving of nearly $28,000. These rugged Jeeps, named after the grueling Rubicon trail in California, feature a 3.6- litre V6 engine, 8-speed automatic, front and rear locking differentials and Rock- Trac on-demand 4WD yet feature such comfort niceties as leather trim, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
