FULL SHOW: 4BC Weekend Breakfast with Olympia Kwitowski, Saturday 5th October 2024
On the show today: Olympia covers the day’s headlines, including the age-old debate of daylight savings! Should QLD join the rest of the East Coast? We hear your thoughts.
Gardening is back for another week, and sees Paul Plant and Olympia get straight into answering your questions! Paul provides thoughts on strategies to treat a Boras-attacked Leopard tree, if a green tea recipe with Geranium leaves is worth a try, identifying an Orchid cutting, using potting mix to fill in holes in soil areas and getting rid of stink bugs from citrus.
PLUS Paul introduces his plant of the week: ‘Pink Champagne’ Callistemon! An Australian native that loves full sun and attracts all manner of wildlife.
In the second hour; Olympia chats with 99 Bikes’ Michelle Mordike following the Government’s announcement that they will set aside $1 million for the new e-mobility scheme, offering $200 towards the purchase of new e-scooters and $500 for e-bikes. Michelle talks about the growing popularity of e-scooters and e-bikes and some ideal places around our city to take one out for a spin.
We also love a good Brissie success story, so we hear from WearOptimo CEO Professor Mark Kendall – a company that is developing a micro-wearable sensor which can record a person’s hydration levels instantaneously. Mark tells us more about the important uses for this tech and why we need something like this as the hotter months come through.
PLUS: We hear from Andrew South of First National By The Bay for a weekly real estate update.
