‘Very much aware’: Health Minister responds to nurses’ safety concerns

A new survey has shown that Queensland nurses are avoiding night shifts due to verbal, physical, and sexual harassment they face while walking to and from their cars after hours.

Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, “[I am] very much aware of the issues that are there…and it’s being taken seriously.”

“I’ve actually just had a meeting with the Director General earlier today, and raised that issue with him directly,” Minister Nicholls continued.
