‘Enough is enough’: Juru Elders pass motion to ban Welcome to Country

Last night the Elders of the Juru peoples in the Burdekin met to discuss the Welcome to Country.

A motion to ban the Welcome to Country was put forth, and the motion was passed.

Juru Elder and Chair of that meeting, Randal Ross, told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “It is well and truly being abused”.

“This is a stand that we are taking in our particular area, and I think it’s been long overdue.”
