‘The problem here is ongoing’: Bicentennial Bikeway in the crosshairs

The Sono Lumo event hosted by The Star Brisbane, has put the Bicentennial bikeway in the crosshairs.

The casino has requested that cyclists and scooter riders dismount for 100 metres, to keep families safe whilst they enjoy the show.

Bicycle Queensland CEO, Alton Twine, told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “There’s ways of dealing with this that are better than what’s being applied.”

“Some of the cyclists are wearing cleats, it’s dangerous to walk on their cleats.”

“The problem here is an ongoing one because there is going to continue to be events in this space.”
