RACGP urges election action to make essential healthcare affordable for all Australians

Mike Jeffreys

Mike speaks with Dr. Michael Wright, President of the Royal Australian College of GPs (RACGP), about the urgent need for Federal Election commitments to make essential GP care affordable and accessible.

Representing over 50,000 members nationwide, the RACGP is calling for bold action to address the rising cost of living and Medicare underfunding, including a decade-long freeze on patient rebates.

While recent investments have helped GPs bulk bill more concession cardholders, Dr. Wright stresses that more must be done to ensure every Australian has access to high-quality, personalized healthcare.

The RACGP has outlined a three-step plan to address these issues.
