Arrow Energy withdraws plans for 14 gas wells in Springvale region

Coal seam gas company Arrow Energy has withdrawn plans to drill 14 gas wells on four properties in the Springvale region, with only two lots now set for deviated wells.

Springvale farmers are celebrating the decision as a major win in their fight against coal seam gas drilling on prime farmland, despite Arrow Energy maintaining a presence in the area.

Farmer in the Darling Downs region, Russell Bennie told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, “There’s a lot of farmers around here who are still in disbelief about the way that our farmland can be degraded by the mining companies with the support of the Queensland Government as well.”
