The Brisbane Valley Highway has been a point of contention due to the number of fatalities on the road in recent years.

Springfield-based LNP Senator Paul Scarr has been advocating for federal funding to upgrade the highway.

Senator Scarr told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, “It needs additional funding, not just from the state government.”

“The LNP promised an additional $20 million on top of the SEQ City Deal going into the last state election.”

“And what I’m calling for is the Albanese Labor Government to match that additional $20 million,” Senator Scarr continued.
