EXCLUSIVE: All Queensland police officers to carry personal tactical first-aid kits

The Queensland Police Service has announced that they will provide all officers with a personal tactical first-aid kit following an incident that occurred earlier this year when a senior constable was shot on Brisbane’s southside.

Police Minister Dan Purdie told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “Frontline police officers face different risks every day… it’s about making sure our police have what they need to keep themselves and their colleagues and the community safe.”

Queensland Police Union President Shane Prior also said, “This is a no-brainer because we’re working in a very dangerous environment.”

“To find the money that we needed now to make sure that our police are protected with the very best equipment is fantastic,” Prior continued.
