Premier warns Queenslanders to prepare as Cyclone Alfred looms off south-east coast
Queensland is on high alert with Tropical Cyclone Alfred tracking towards the South East.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of up to 600mm of rain, life-threatening flooding and damaging winds.
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “If you’re at work today or if you get a chance to hang out across the back fence, just talk to somebody who may not be aware of the fact that this system is a prospect.”
“It intensified overnight to a two and all of the modelling is showing that it’s coming towards the coast.”
“So, just let people know, get them connected and if that communication continues, I’ve got every faith that people will be a-okay,” Premier Crisafulli said.
