‘Now the recovery really gears up’: Mammoth clean-up task ahead for Brisbane

As the effects of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred begin to ease, attention has turned towards the clean-up and returning to life as normal.

Brisbane City Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “We have had less rain in the last 24 hours than projected… so a fantastic outcome there.”

“And it’s looking like not much rain today as well so that will really help us get back on track.”

“We’ve got most council libraries open, 20 libraries open, most council pools open, most community halls open.”

“We’ve got the ability now that the worst of it’s over to gear up that recovery effort,” Lord Mayor Schrinner said.
