Expert claims Australia needs a better understanding of the ocean

An expert says Australia needs to understand the ocean better, pointing to unscrewed surface vehicles as a potential solution.
Oceanographer at Charles Darwin University Dr Ruth Patterson says unscrewed surface vehicles can help gather large amounts of data other organisations have been unable to collect.
“They can motor around, they can sail around … you can remotely operate them to go in a specific direction,” she said.
