‘It’s a lifeline’: Advocacy group calls for an alternative to existing emergency communications

Sofie Formica

A leading communications advocacy organisation for consumers is calling on authorities to be better prepared for natural disasters following Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Australian Communications Consumer Action Network chief executive Carol Bennett says there’s a need for an alternative for emergency communications.

“This should be a fundamental thing we’ve put in place,” she added.
