More regional towns are becoming hotspots for city dwellers seeking a tree change.

The latest Regional Movers Index shows in the last quarter, there was a 32 percent rise in the number of people moving to the regions.

Rural editor Emily Minney spoke with Regional Australia Institute Chief Executive Liz Ritchie about the figures.
