The number of Australians who are blind or have vision loss is expected to be above 800,000 in the next two years.

90% of cases are preventable, but not enough of people are getting regular eye health checks.

Chris Smith speaks with Retina Specialist Dr Neil Sharma about the effects of glaucoma.

“It leads to loss of peripheral vision… but because the two eyes overlap, patients are often unaware they have it.

“It can, in the more advanced stages, be like looking through two toilet rolls.”
