Liberal MP Craig Kelly says he has PM’s support in fight for his seat
Liberal MP Craig Kelly is fighting to keep his seat in parliament but stresses he has his leader’s support.
The Member for Hughes is facing a pre-selection battle that could see him rolled as the party’s candidate ahead of the next federal election.
Mr Kelly tells Ben Fordham as a politician you’re bound to “upset a few people” but he’ll be standing by his record.
“We have pre-selection processes in the Liberal Party. It’s a democratic process that anyone’s able to put their hand up.
“I’m more than happy to stand on my record.
“I’ve got the support of the Prime Minister, the support of the rest of my colleagues and I’m looking to represent the people of Hughes for a long time to come.”
Ben says if Mr Kelly is rolled, “all hell will break loose”.
