Sunshine Coast Airport has topped the list as the most unreliable airport in Australia, with nearly one in three flights delayed last year.

Three other Queensland airports have been named and shamed in the top ten, including Gold Coast, Mackay and Rockhampton airports.

Perth Airport was the best performer but neither Sydney or Melbourne saw a positive result.

Bessie Hassan from Finder.com.au tells Chris Smith the smaller airports seem to struggle more.

“It was the smaller airports that performed the worst.

“We think bad weather and late incoming flights are largely to blame.”
