Australian researchers are claiming a breakthrough in the treatment of type one diabetes, which could lead to a potential cure in those with early stages of the disease.

The team from Monash University are about to start human trials. Dr Eliana Marino tells Ben: if successful it may also benefit those suffering Type 2 diabetes, asthma, arthritis and allergies.
