Public hospitals to ban junk food and soft drinks
By the end of this year people will no longer be able to buy junk food or sugary drinks in Queensland’s public hospitals and healthcare facilities.
It is part of efforts to tackle the growing obesity epidemic and State Health Minister Steven Miles is hoping it will serve as an example to the wider community.
The initiative has been welcomed by the Cancer Council Queensland and CEO Chris McMillan tells Mark it is just common sense.
