One musician has completely laid himself bare.

He kicked things off with two autobiographies; Working Class Boy which takes you through his traumatic childhood, then Working Class Man which takes you through the years of Cold Chisel and his reflections on success, fame and addiction.

Now, after a series of theatrical performances, Jimmy Barnes presents all of himself in a documentary hitting cinemas across the country this Thursday 23 August.

“I felt the emotion that came from the documentary even exceeding the emotion when I saw it on stage,” says Chris Smith.

Working Class Boy takes a deep look into Jimmy’s life and probes his family relationships.

He says in creating the documentary, he learnt so much more about himself because it required him to go back to where it all began.

It also delves into the relationship he has with his son David, who grew up believing Jimmy was, in fact, his uncle.

“That was very confrontational for him, and for me.

“It took him a while to bounce back from that.”
