Former Rabbitoh says Bunnies will bounce back as sexting scandal is resolved
South Sydney has cleared all players from any wrongdoing over the lewd sexting scandal that emerged last week.
The club received complaints in May, June and August over inappropriate conduct by a group of players, which included star Sam Burgess.
It was alleged he exposed himself to a woman during a Facebook video chat.
After interviewing the players and woman involved, the Rabbitohs have found no player engaged in any actionable misconduct resulting in a breach of their NRL contract.
The decision comes just a day before South Sydney take on the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium in a do-or-die preliminary final.
Former Rabbitoh Michael Crocker tells Chris Smith it’s “good timing to have the book closed on that”.
“For Sam, his partner Pheobe, and the families, and the rest of the Rabbitohs, it was obviously a tough couple of weeks.
“I think for the Rabbitohs, they’ll be really confident now. They obviously went out and played last week with that hanging over them and they got the win.
“I think that’ll bring them together.”
