Huggies nappies moves to Asia
Huggies nappies will no longer be manufactured in Australia after the American manufacturer Kimberley-Clark announced the closure of its Sydney factory.
220 employees at the Ingleburn factory were told the nappies would instead be made in China and Korea.
The factory is expected to close in July.
National Secretary of Textile Clothing Footwear Manufacturing CFMMEU Jenny Kruschel tells Ross Greenwood she believes the decision was wrong.
“This is a company that we think has just got corporate greed.
“We think that they’ve been making lots of profits in Australia and that they can stay in Australia.”
