Pub ordered to shut down BBQ after smoke pollution complaint
A pub in Sydney’s inner west has been told to stop using their outdoor barbeque after a neighbour said they didn’t like the smell.
The Welcome Hotel in Balmain has been warned by the Inner West Council they could be fined up to $8000 each day if they continue using it.
The pub has been barbequing for the last six years, and upgraded to a charcoal barbeque last year.
Owner of The Welcome Hotel Liam O’Keeffe tells Luke Grant he wasn’t given much information from the local council.
“One individual complaint is all that I have received, and I have requested more information from council.”
