Ticket reseller Viagogo has been found guilty by the Federal Court of misleading consumers over the scarcity of tickets to sporting and entertainment events.

The court found Viagogo resold tickets to events, claiming they were an official ticket seller.

They were also accused of not disclosing how much their booking fees were and misleading consumers over when tickets would run out.

ACCC Chairman Rod Sims tells Ross Greenwood this all tricked people into “paying more than they should”.

“The way things are sold to consumers, particularly online, is a huge concern to us.

“They should never have had the website constructed as they did.”
