A breakdown of dreams
Dreaming is a complex process that everyone experiences, whether remembered or not.
Dreams occur as the brain attempts to process experiences from the last one to two days.
The prefrontal cortex, responsible for controlling the conscious mind, largely switches off during sleep.
Other parts of the brain take over, allowing dreams to reveal what is typically inaccessible to the conscious mind.
Dream analyst, Jane Teresa Anderson, joined Greg Cary on 4BC Afternoons, to breakdown the process of dreams.
