There has been an array of new property laws introduced into parliament, and some may cause some controversy.

A proposed law will allow body corporates to legally ban residents from smoking on their own private balconies.

Kristian Marlow, Policy Officer from Strata Community Association, told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “For the most part, these changes reflect what people have wanted to see in terms of body corporate legislation for a long time we think…”

Peter Gleeson replied, “It’s certainly a contentious issue, there’s no doubt about that, there’s issue around people’s liberty, and freedom of liberty…”
