‘We won’t give in to such evil’: Archbishop hints Notre Dame fire may have been deliberate
The Catholic Archbishop of Sydney has hinted the fire at Notre Dame may have been a deliberate attack on Christians.
The 850-year-old cathedral in Paris was decimated by a large blaze on Tuesday, with initial investigations suggesting it was an accident.
But Archbishop Anthony Fischer tells Alan Jones Christians are under siege at the moment.
“In a sense, Christians are always under siege…
“Particularly at this time, we know there are those in the world who are opposed to all religion, or opposed to our religion.
“And it looks like some of them are determined to make that clear by burning down our buildings.
“I hope that’s not what was behind what happened at Notre Dame Cathedral.
“We won’t give in to such evil.”
