WATCH | Car theft victim catches alleged accomplices on camera
A man says he’s captured two people aiding in the theft of his car on camera as they attempted to flee the scene.
A male and female who claimed to be interested in purchasing a BMW that Lance Cullen had listed for sale arrived at his Mackenzie home yesterday under the guise of inspecting the vehicle.
Mr Cullen told Neil Breen he was hesitant to agree to the pair taking the car for a test drive, and it appears his instincts were correct.
He says the pair fled with the BMW, while two others who had been hiding in the vehicle the thieves arrived in, attempted to drive that car from the scene.
As they struggled to start the second car, Mr Cullen managed to film some of the altercation.
“I’ve had people say that they’ve witnessed my vehicle driving erratically with my personalised plates still on it,” Mr Cullen said.
He said his car, which has modifications that make it easily recognisable, was spotted at Harbour Town today, sporting a different set of plates.
