The state’s peak medical body is urging the Premier to give a clear idea as to when the borders will reopen. 

Annastacia Palaszczuk yesterday urged Queenslanders to get vaccinated against COVID-19 now, hinting borders could be reopening within weeks.

AMA Queensland President Dr Chris Perry told Neil Breen people need certainty.

“Because people aren’t getting vaccines, they’ve got to get some urgency as has happened in NSW and Victoria.

“But gee, if you’re not getting your vaccine now, you’re just a dud, you’re just being taken for a ride.”
