Anika Wells feeling ‘heartened’ as Labor enjoys boost in primary votes

Anika Wells looks to hold the seat of Lilley as the Labor Party enjoys a boost in primary votes.
Wells had previously won the seat in 2019 by a marginal 0.6 per cent but looks to finish the 2022 campaign in a more comfortable position.
“We are feeling very heartened and confident but we are still waiting for pre-poll to come in, given more than 40 per cent of the seat voted before today,” she told John Stanley and Scott Emerson.
But she says the Greens have a strong chance at claiming seats across the state.
“The Greens up here are basically performing that role of the teals in other states.
“In seats like mine, we are also seeing a boost to the Labor primary and that’s really heartening.”
