There are fresh warnings to be wary of sophisticated scams ramping up around Christmas. 

A listener yesterday told Bill McDonald he’d been scammed out of more than $26,000 by someone he thought worked for Suncorp Bank.

Australian Bank Association boss Anna Bligh said now is the “prime time” for scams.

“They’ll play on the fact that they think you’re busy and this time of year, leading into Christmas, is prime time.”
