Australia’s leading musical theatre star Anthony Warlow is set to take on the greatest challenge of his famed career.

Anthony Warlow will feature alongside Kath and Kim’s Gina Riley in a new production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

He tells Chris Smith playing Sweeney Todd, a vengeful barber who serves up his customers in pies, is the role of a lifetime.

“It absolutely will be my greatest challenge. This is something that will push me and will push the boundaries.”

Warlow sees it as a chance to branch out and play a different type of character, after previously wowing audiences in The Phantom of the Opera.

“This is kind of my year of being gothic again. They always say the villain is the most interesting character to play.”
