Today marks the 40th anniversary of Australia II’s iconic win in the America’s Cup. 

The win came after the Royal Perth Yacht Club’s Australia II won four races to three against the New York Yacht Club’s Liberty.

Rob Mundle, Australian Yachting Journalist and Broadcaster, told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “Everything about getting to the top and winning the America’s Cup was full of excitement, the adrenaline was pumping everyday…”
