Australia ‘the laughing stock of the world’ amid Djokovic debacle
Mark Levy has slammed the court’s decision to allow Novak Djokovic to remain in Australia.
The judge ruled in the tennis star’s favour after the federal government cancelled his visa at the border.
Alex Hawke has the ability to cancel Djokovic’s visa for a second time under the Migration Act, with a decision expected later today.
“The federal government has been left with egg on its face,” Mark said.
“Maybe the Immigration Minister can explain to me why it’s so important for us to roll out the red carpet for someone who refuses the follow the vaccination requirements in Australia.
“It’s made a mockery of our border rules and regulations and it has made us the laughing stock of the world.”
