Authorities monitor COVID-19 outbreak on Coral Princess cruise ship
Passengers disembarking from a cruise ship with a COVID-19 outbreak will be required to return a negative RAT test when it docks in Sydney tomorrow.
110 crew and 4 passengers on the Coral Princess have so far tested positive as it sails south from Brisbane, but the majority are crew.
Some passengers have chosen to disembark.
Carol Welsh and her husband John are on board.
They boarded the ship on Sunday when it docked in Brisbane.
“It’s all being handled very sensibly and it’s just a matter of enjoying ourselves,” they told Neil Breen from the ship.
She said cleaning protocols were very strict, including people wearing masks except when in the cabin.
They were caught up on the Diamond Princess and had to isolate in their cabins in Japan for two weeks.
They say they are being careful on board.
