Black Friday shopping sales – what you need to know!

Article image for Black Friday shopping sales – what you need to know!

The annual Black Friday sales start tomorrow and more Australian consumers are catching on to the craze.

Last year US$8.4 billion was spent on Black Friday and Cyber Monday alone, two of the world’s biggest shopping days.

2GB’s Chris Smith talks to Graham Cooke, Insights Manager at Finder.com.au, about what the sales mean for Australian shoppers.

“The highest discounts this year will be in fashion and accessories. You’ll see discounts of up to 70% at the high end but you can expect 10 to 15% off prices across the board.”

Graham says anyone wanting to take advantage of the sales should get online before tomorrow.

“Get on board Black Friday before Black Friday. Some of the sales start early and the best deals tend to sell out quickly.”

Online retailer Amazon is also set to launch in Australia from 2pm tomorrow.

Chris spoke to Marketing and Advertising expert Dr Gary Mortimer about the impact of Amazon’s expansion into Australia.
