Bob Irwin blows up over platypus allegedly snatched from wild
Conservationist Bob Irwin has blasted two people who allegedly took a platypus from the wild north of Brisbane.
The pair were seen with the monotreme at Morayfield Station on Tuesday, where they boarded a train travelling toward Caboolture.
Authorities are now pleading with them to come forward, with concerns the platypus won’t survive long outside its natural habitat.
Irwin told Sofie Formica the behaviour was incredibly stupid.
“People do such dumb things that it makes you wonder how they survive, some of these people,” he said.
“The chance of a platypus surviving is very, very slim indeed and if it’s not found or returned, it unfortunately will die.”
