Brain cancer survivor hatches ‘outrageous’ way to give back
A Queensland woman who got caught up in strict border rules while fighting brain cancer during the height of the pandemic is giving back.
Jayne Brown underwent brain surgery in Sydney in 2020 but was forced to sit through two weeks of hotel quarantine before she could return to her Mooloolah Valley home.
After telling her story on 4BC Breakfast, Jayne was able to travel home in style after her quarantine, thanks to MILIMO Brisbane Limousine Service.
More than 20 months on, Jayne is cancer-free and ready to give back after all the help she received.
“I was selected to be a warrior in the Challenge 4 Brain Cancer to raise money for the Charlie Teo Foundation,” she said.
“You could choose anything you like; I chose swimming, because I thought that would be a big challenge for me.
“I’ve got four of my girly friends together, so there’s five of us, and we’ve made a challenge that for the month of May, we’re going to swim a total of 50 kilometres, which is outrageous!”
