Huge delays across Brisbane’s train network after two incidents cause chaos
There’s 90 minute delays on the train network this evening, after two incidents continue to cause chaos in the evening peak.
The overnight storms have impacted a cable near Bowen Hills, and there’s a broken down coal train stuck in Murrarie.
Scott Riedel, head of Queensland Rail’s SEQ network, says it’s having huge impacts for people trying to get home tonight.
“Currently we have two issues on the rail network one is a cable fault at Bowen Hills and that’s a result of the storm last night, in particular the lightning,” he told Neil Breen.
“Another one is a third party freight train which is currently failed on the track at Murrarie.
“What that means for our customers is a 90 minute delays on all lines.”
There are buses running from Eagle Junction to Doomben.
