Major changes to Queensland’s COVID-19 rules unveiled

Queensland will shed a raft of restrictions in the coming days as the state reaches the tail-end of its COVID-19 wave.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the changes in a speech to parliament this morning.
From 6pm on Friday, March 4, masks will no longer be required in shops, hospitality venues, workplaces and schools.
They won’t be going entirely, with the requirement still in place while on public transport and in hospitals, disability care, prisons, aged care, airports and planes.
At the same time, density limits will be dropped for most venues, including at weddings, funerals, private homes, gyms, hairdressers and food courts.
Bans on excursions and assemblies at schools will also be scrapped.
