Former Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale has been released from prison on parole, three years after being sentenced for more than 30 offences.

Pisasale was sentenced to more than seven years in the Wolston Correctional Centre in 2020 after pleading guilty to charges including sexual assault, corruption and fraud.

He was found guilty of extortion in 2019 after demanding thousands of dollars from the ex-boyfriend of a Chinese extort while posing as a private investigator.
