Two people are in custody after a police chase involving a stolen car played out through the streets of Brisbane.

The white Mercedes was seen driving on sidewalks and speeding through lanes on the wrong side of the road during the spree.

The car was seen entering the carpark of Redbank Plaza, where police blocked exits and were able to apprehend the offenders.

9News reporter Alex Heinke told Bill McDonald there are fears more offenders are on the loose.

“The dog squad we can see has just arrived and there are swarms of police as well, surrounding the area.

“This has been going on for two days, these juveniles have been in this, we believe, stolen vehicle for two days.

“Starting in Ipswich, they’ve been livestreaming their antics across the morning.”

Mark Levy said reports of the car first came in just after 9am this morning.

“So for nearly three hours, we’ve had this car racing through the streets of Brisbane and Ipswich,” he said.

“I’m told it was stolen at Redbank Plains, allegedly, it then made its way to the northside of Brisbane, before returning to Redbank Plaza.

“Now, I would’ve thought if a car’s been racing through the streets, Queensland Police would’ve been desperate to let listeners know.”
