Brisbane residents influence Gabba redevelopment plans

Article image for Brisbane residents influence Gabba redevelopment plans

The outrage from Brisbane residents has placed pressure on the Queensland Government to reconsider its decision to redevelop Raymond Park for the Brisbane Olympics.

The residents of East Brisbane have received some good news today, with the government deciding they will not resume homes in-order to create an athletics warm-up track.

Brisbane resident, Melissa Occhipinti, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive, “Yes, a few of us who have houses on the park are relieved…”

“But they’re basically putting bulldozers through our whole community, our schools, our parks, just so they can have the athletics,” Ms. Occhipinti.
