British woman dies after being exposed to Russian nerve agent
A woman who was exposed to the nerve agent Novichok in southwestern England has died in hospital.
Dawn Sturgess, 44, was exposed to the same nerve agent that put a former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in hospital four months ago.
Ms Sturgess (above) and her partner Charlie Rowley, 45, were taken to hospital from Amesbury 10 days ago.
Police believed the pair had secondary exposure to the chemical weapon used in the attack on the Skripals.
UK correspondent Adam Gilchrist updates Michael McLaren on the breaking news.
“Police have said they believe they were contaminated by this same nerve agent in a previously unchecked area.
“They don’t know where and they don’t know how the came into contact with this stuff.”
