Calls for Mark Bailey to resign after hidden cost blow-out
There are calls for Transport Minister Mark Bailey to resign, after the actual cost of the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program was revealed to be $9.5 billion.
Minister Bailey has defended his involvement in the $2.4 billion blow-out, after attributing the error to ‘nature of the day.’
Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Jarrod Bleijie, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive, “I’ve got to say that Labor’s train shame scandal is the end of the line for Mark Bailey as a minister in Queensland, it’s extreme dishonesty, it’s a cover up and it runs right through the Queensland Cabinet and to the Premier’s office herself.”
“If the Minister is finding the time to get on Twitter and social media and tweet about all other matters, then I’m pretty sure he read his press release, I’m pretty sure he knew exactly what was going on…” Mr. Bleijie continued.
