Chinchilla residents are on high alert after a major flood warning was issued for the Condamine River.

Nine News reporter Alex Heinke told Ray Hadley the river is the finishing point for a lot of rivers and catchments.

“The major flood warning comes in at 10 metres, and essentially when it hit that mark, there a lot of roads that were just completely washed over and a lot of residents, a lot of farmers in particular that just simply, are isolated.”
