Air safety investigators have begun searching for answers following the deadly helicopter crash on the Gold Coast on Monday.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has gathered smaller pieces of the aircrafts, mechanics, recording devices and passengers’ SIM cards to be fully examined and analysed.

What unfolded in the cockpits and the range of visibility for both the pilots will be major questions as investigators piece together what might have caused the crash.

“Now we know, of course Luke, both of these helicopters were scenic joyflights; they were full of tourists from overseas and interstate,” Today reporter Mia Glover said on 4BC Summer Breakfast.

“There’s no doubt going to be some sort of video recording on both of these helicopters, which of course will be so confronting to watch but also crucial to work out what was going on.”
