‘Common enemies’ under threat as AFP Commissioner leads Five Eyes
AFP Commissioner Reece Kershaw has been appointed the new chairman of an intelligence alliance between Australia, the US, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
The Five Eyes alliance shares resources for countering common threats such as terrorism, cybercrime and child abuse, the Commissioner explained to Ray Hadley.
“I’ve got the opportunity over the next two years to host those senior police and drug enforcement officers and different intelligence agencies down here in Australia, and showcase what we’re doing.
“We unite together and share different strategies … where we’re able to leverage off each other and target our common enemies.”
