The major upgrade to the Centenary Bridge will begin next year.

A construction contract has been awarded to Georgiou Group and BMD Constructions, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced this morning.

It will see a new three lane Centenary Bridge built in Jindalee as well as an upgrade to the existing bridge.

Mount Ommaney MP Jess Pugh said it will help ease congestion both in the morning and evening peaks, as well as weekends.
